WTB - Stock 8.8 IRS rear Cover
Not sure why people have to be this way but while cleaning my 99 Cobra 8.8 IRS I noticed a blob of rock guard on the rear cover. After I scraped it off with a little lacquer thinner for solvent I noticed the patch. A triangular hole looks like punctured through the case appox. 1/2" each side. On top is a sanded out patch of mechanics epoxy, NICE!!! I even asked the guy if there was anything wrong with it besides the broken axle and welded trailing arm on the drivers side. NOPE, ALL GOOD was the reply.
So I am looking for a fellow member who may have a stock cover kicking around and willing to ship to CANADA. I am going to try and TIG mine but I would still like to get a replacement. I can do PayPal or what ever your desire for payment may be.
I would like an after market bearing support cover but I am waiting till I can cruise into the US and pick one up. The duty, taxes and shipping to CANADA is obscene. Possibly a fellow member is coming to Kelowna, BC for the weekend and I can ship it to their US addy and have you bring it up to Kelowna. I'll buy the beer!!

I have one, but like you said taxes and such to canada is stupid. If you can figure someone around the border I can ship to I'd gladly sell it to you for a reasonable price
if you decide to go with an aftermarket one, the ford motorsport one is really nice.

Steve,
Very cool, I do find myself in Sarasota / Miami every 6 months or so when I work with Vector Powerboats. Usually do attend the Miami Boat Show so possibly could hook up at a future date if I don't find something closer, smuggle it back in my suitcase, lol. Thanks for the info on the F0RD cover, usually had good luck with M0T0RSP0RT parts. Looks like things will TIG up OK but will still like to have the replacement cover, oil impregnated aluminum is never fun to weld. Thanks for the offer will let you know how I make out. Got lots of acetone to draw out the oil before I fuse and fill.
Thanks again

T-Bone,
I have been looking at that brace and I just might do it, not sure if I really need it or the F0M0C0 cover but it sure would look cooler,LOL. Just ordered this to help: IRS differential mounts, urethane, complete kit, 1999-04 Cobra
Just to show how it sucks to be on the Canadian side, the bushings cost me $64.00 but the shipping is $49 US and I still have Customs / duty and GST tax to deal with. Comes to $113.00 US so far, I bet by the time I am done I will have spent close to $200 CAN on those parts.
