WTB - North east

Anyone know anything that might be in the area...I've been approved and would be interested in a project ford or chevy...

Meierznutz 05-01-2012 08:42 PM

There is one on Craigslist... 94 black with a 215 aluminum Buick v-8 and a 200r4 automatic, carberated....$3500
I dont know the guy but did talk to him about it, he is an old school hot rodder that had the 215 and the car so he threw them together. He is working on the rest of it all now but says he drove it a few times. His name is Dale and his number is 413-773-7426

MiataAndy 05-02-2012 01:33 PM

Yup saw that one

It's titleless as I understand it from Dale...Not the right price for a 215 with no title IMHO...Regardles, wouldn't jump on a 215 anyway...If nothing shows in the next month, I'll expand to a 1.8 turbo, but for now...still searching...

Monster in FLA

In Hypothetical world, would any owners by interested in this ebay monster in fl and if so at what price?...I'm NO WAY an expert, but who is setting up there monsters with a carburetor? How's that MS-III set up coming Jason?

Price looks fair. I don't anounce the car as having hte bugs worked out until it has a bit more than 1000 miles on it though. If you live in an area that requires emmisions you'd have to swap a injection manifold on it. That whole process could run another $1000 for wires, ecu, etc.

So Jason, are you willing to do that kind of work then? Have car shipped to you for finishing the EFI conversion?

MRM331 05-04-2012 02:36 PM

It's not really that big a deal work wise. The only thing that would require even jacking the car up would be plugging in the VSS and O2 sensors. You'd have to have bungs welded into the exhaust for the o2's as well. My harness is pretty plug-and-play and swapping manifolds is only a 2 to 3 hour job if that.

The first thing you'd do is take it to an exhaust shop and have the bungs welded in. You could put plugs in them temporarily or even screw in the o2 sensors. Meanwhile get a harness and mod it or have me mod it while collecting the parts you'd need (upper/lower intake, fuel rails, injectors, sensors, intake plumbing, mass air. Drive the car home and start swapping. You'd have to pull the blower and glove box out to run the harness but that would be about it.

To answer your question, yes, I'd be willing to swap injection on it for you. It may not be worth it to have me do though if you have to pay to have it shipped. I could provide a comprehensive list of parts needed if desired. I could even source the parts and send them out to you.

Another thouught is that if you are going to the touble to swap in a stock Ford system an MS3 system could be had for just a bit more and give you much more tunablity, power and MPG's.

So how many users are on the MS3 system? Jason are you running any of your cars on it?

There's one guy at the other forum running one and several Mustangs over at their site. Mine will be up when I get the chance to work on it between other people's harnesses. Currently I'm trying to get all the extra stuff like on-off switches and wideband-related components in before hand to make the actual install quicker. I have the whole system, including MS3, harnesses, Widebands, and sensors sitting in a box ready to go.

I have a track day in mid july that I can't afford to miss due to tuning issues. If I'm not confident that I can get the system in and the bugs worked out before then I'm going to wait until after to do the install.

If you need a body harness (assuming its a 90-93), I have one sitting here. If you need an engine harness, Jason will build a sweet one for ya.

Pictures needed of the new hotrod...

I'm also selling mine for a ridiculous $6,500.00 (reduced). It's a '92 Martin kit Monster Miata with only about 20,000 on the drivetrain. It handles like it's on rail, probably because of the Fat Cat Motorsports, custom built coil-over BILSTEIN set up; the shocks are rebuildable if ever necessary. I paid a LOT more $$$ for this Miata and it can be yours for a fraction of it. It has much more not listed and if you're interested, just contact me.
