^ This is one of the reasons we want a different kind of car every time we get a rental (3-5 times a year or so). We found PT Cruisers SUCK but the new little match box nissans are fairly comfortable for long hauls.

Great words. Last winter my wife and I had all but decided on a new Chevy Traverse. We flew down to Florida to visit the in laws. While I was watching our two young boys she went to the counter to get the rental ( a sedan). She comes back with the keys to a Traverse. Granted, it didn't have the options we wanted for our planned purchase but what the heck, right? Well, after 11 days we decided we really didn't like it at all. It had a huge blind spot out the back didn't get anywhere near the advertized fuel economy and for as big as it was, felt kind of cramped.

We definitely would have regret that purchase. Now, like you I tell people to try and rent before they buy.
