Using factory tachometer

Hi
I have a LS 1 engine swap. I am using the MSD LS ignition controller. Is there
any way to use the factory tachometer. Is there any way to convert a 8 cyl.
tach signal to work with a 4 cyl. tach.

with the stock ecu its a piece of cake to alter the tach out speed.

Why the MSD controller? Does it have a carb on it?

factory tach

Yes, I am using a carburetor. I didn't want to mess with all the wiring using the stock fuel injection and factory computer.I still like working on old school engines. I found a tachometer interface from
Dakota Electronics to convert the tach signal.

i know that you have a screw in the cluster to ajust the rpm... look on the net i'm sure you find the solution.....

There is an adapter box available on line that I used to convert the signal on my 5.0 conversion. It was as easy as splicing it into the tach wire and adding power. It will pretty much convert any combination to work with each other. Unfortunately I can't remember the company name, but it should be easy to find with Google.
