For the Miata or for the LS1?

Ls1- many good ones on the internet

Miata- Your up a creek on that one. I picked my own harness clean. It took a long time, but was well worth it. I've thought about offering to do it on others, but the legalities are too great for this poor college kid :p

Painless wiring makes a kit with a computer and everything for the LS1..

If you've installed one, you'd find there is nothing painless about their kit.

I was going to go for the Painless kit as part of my LS1 MG project, but decided to check out how easy it would be to modify the GM parts. Short version: go with the GM one. It's really easy to do and very well documented. Took me about 3 hours from the time I sat down with the harness to basically having it ready to plug in.

There are a few guys on LS1Tech who will mod a harness for you for cheaper, and a few of the ebay outfits that do it have a good rep at LS1Tech. I did my own like chpmnsws6 as some of the lengths of certain wires are unique to the Miata. It also depends on where you mount the PCM/ECU. I put mine in my '01 in the Pax footwell like the '90s.

Not a bad price. If I were to do it for someone else, it'd easily run 150 or so with a clean harness provided. Though its not bad, it is time consuming to do it right, and a few things have to be redone to make it look decent.

That being said, mine is not up to par- don't put any tape on the wires till the harness is on the engine!!!!!!!!! :(

You made that mistake too, huh? :( I had to pull a lot of neatly taped joints after everything was in. I ended up pulling all tape and will reloom/tape everything when I'm 100% sure everything works.

Everyone does it......... I'm blond enough to do it twice now in my life!

LS2 V8 Miata 03-19-2010 11:05 AM

Started from Scratch, I measured exactly where I wanted everything to be & go, designed a plug & play harness and drew it on the computer.

After stripping a used 2006 GTO harness I already had, reviewing plug / connector conditions / wiring, trying to figure what would be required to modify it to conform to my drawn design and what my time might be worth, had my design fabbed all NEW for about $650.00 Used HP Tuners GTO performance tune.

Ain't it 'posed ta be spel'd Meyater?
