McCully Racing Motors TFI Kit GROUP BUY!!!!!!!

It's been asked for now here it is: A group buy for my TFI relocation Kit.

After giving it a lot of thought I've come up with the following Group buy deal:

Starting at 1%, for every TFI kit sold to a V8M Forum Member between now and January 20th, 2015 I will deduct an additional 1% from ALL kits sold as part of the promotion, all of which will be billed on the 20th and sent out by the 23rd. It sounds complicated but is actually pretty simple:

I sell one kit: the discount is 1% for that customer
I sell two kits: the discount is 2% for both customers
I sell three kits: the discount is 3% for all three customers

Change of plans: I am now starting the discount at 5% and will keep it there until a sixth person signs up. At that point I'll bump it to 10%. I'll keep it there until the 11th signs on and then it will bump to 15%. At 15 sales the discount will bump to the full 20% which is where it will stay.

I'll keep this up until we reach 20% (20 kits sold). At that point I'll still sell more as part of the promotion but the discount will top out at 20% and the extra orders may not get shipped out the same date as the first 20 (I only have materials set aside for the 20 kits I'm planning on moving as part of this promotion).

In order to be part of the group buy you MUST be a forum member with at least one post AND be willing to wait until the 23rd of January to have the kit shipped to you. I will still sell and ship kits on a daily basis but these will NOT be part of the group buy.

I will send everyone who signs up a PayPal invoice on the 20th of January or whenever we reach 20 sales since I will not actually know the price until then. DO NOT place an order through my web page if you want to be part of this promotion. If you do you will pay full price and I'll ship it out to you immediately. The discount ONLY applies to the kit, not the shipping or tool rental.

If you want to be part of this post to this thread AND PM me with your full name, phone number and email address I can PayPal you at. I will keep a list of V8M.net user names and actual first names with last initials below:

Please post below if you need me to clarify any of this. I have been told I have a tendency to make things more complicated than need be.

Also: I can only combine shipping on three or more kits. I know it sounds strange but I can not fit two kits in the normal shipping box but I can fit up to four or five in the next size up.

Here's a link to my TFI page:

McCully Racing Motors- We have exactly what your over-heated TFI Module Needs!

Remember, DO NOT order through that page if you want in on this deal. You must post and PM me here at V8M only to be part of it!

Thanks everyone!

Jason - I'm in!

I'm in Canada though... I know you told me before you simply charge more for shipping which I'm totally cool with - just saying keep that in mind when adding me to the group buy.

I've been wanting to buy your TFI kit for a while!

I'm more than willing to ship to Canada. Remember that the discount does not apply to shipping and my international shipping on this is $23.00. I'll put you down on the list but let me know if you want off.

That's 2% folks!!!

With new format the discount now stands at 5% for the next three to sign up. If a sixth signs up the discount for everyone on board jumps to 10%!!!!

Here's an unsolicited and hopefully unoffensive opinion from an old marketing consultant. It's free, and appropriately valued.

When the discount starts very low and requires several to sign up to get to a level of any significance, there are likely to be numerous potential buyers who are interested, but everyone waits for others to jump on the bandwagon first.

The "why" behind that is a lot of us workin' folks will preserve scarce cash rather than buy at a 5% discount. They don't want to commit to buy and later discover no one else jumped in, and they don't want to be chicken p**p and back out later, either. So nothing happens. Put me in that box; I've already purchased one of your TFI relocators at full price (they're awesome), and I'll eventually need another, maybe in a year or so, but for potentially only a 5% discount and lots of other stuff I need currently, I waited. Bet I'm not the only one.

If you started your discount at 10% and ramped up by 1% for every additional participant, I bet you'd get a lot more action. If you wanted to protect yourself from possibly selling only one unit at a discount that you probably would have sold anyway (margin erosion without corresponding volume increase), require at least 3 people to commit before the group buy becomes valid.

However you choose to structure any future deals, I hope you'll continue to do them 'cause you make some really terrific specialty items that this community is lucky to have available! For example, my '90 has your wiring harness in it and has experienced zero electrical problems. Good stuff.

The idea was that in the middle of the summer (or any other time of year other than now) I can't keep up with demand for these. I go from making daily trips to the local post office in November to only selling one or two during the entire month of January. Thanks though.

I kind of figured that out a few days in and bumped the bottom up to 5% for that reason. I figured 5 buy-ins to bump it to 10% was fine, I guess not. Orders are already starting to pick up from the Late December/January slow down so I probably won't have a chance to run one of these again until next year on this.

I did used to do a yearly AC line sale every year from about now until the Phillies' home opener (the official start of summer around here). The deal was just free shipping but I may combine that with a group buy discount for members here if people want one.

I also have a new aluminum driveshaft I purchased to have in "stock" with another order almost 6 months ago that I would love to move. Since I can only have them built in sets of two I'm afraid to advertise it and end up selling two (would put me right back where I am now).

Thanks for the advice though,

-Jason
