Getting tach to work with E67
Hey guys, I just joined up. I don't have a V8 miata, but I did just complete a GM 4 cyl 2.4L Ecotec swap in my 91 miata. I came here because this swap is still very new to the market and I am one of the very few to have completed my swap already so there's few people I can ask questions of. My swap uses the E67 ECM, the same as an LS3 so I thought maybe some of you would have an answer to my question. I'm trying to get the Tachometer to work now, and read on an ecotec forum that I should take pins 25 and 26 from connector C1 and jump them together to the miata tach signal, supposedly pin 25 is the tach signal and pin 26 contains a pull-up resistor. Well I did this and my tach moves, but only barely (like maybe 100 rpm, if even that.) My question is, what do I set the tach output to in HP tuners, I have the option of serial, PWM, and crank. Also should I forego the jumping of pin 26 in and just "tee" a 2.2k ohm resistor on a switched 12v source to the pin 25 as per FM's wiring instructions?
