Ford Performance Wire Harness and Miata Fan Switch Question

6 Attachment(s)
Hello Ford Windsor People,

Has anyone used the Ford Racing Performance, piece wire harness (M-12071-A50 Revision 2)?

I am trying to follow Martin Wilson's instructions for the wire harness modifications but my wiring is somewhat different. I think in general the one piece harness is more agreeable to the Miata build but i am confused with the 12V run and keyed hot steps as i do not have a Grey with Yellow Stripe etc.

I have attached the wire schematic and pin out diagram.

Also, does anyone have the part number for the temperature sending unit that Martin Wilson suggests inside the thermostat housing?

Any help is much appreciated,

You may want to use something like this: Flex-a-lite 31147: Adjustable Fan Switch | JEGS to control the fans along with a manual override switch. Once my engine gets hot, the fans do not seem to recover very quickly. The Mazda fan switch seems to turn the fans on too late.

I'll second the fan comment. Using a Hayden thermo-coupler kit is the best way I've found other than using a SN95 ECU or Megasquirt (both have an output for fan control; a standard Fox ecu does not).

Hayden fan controllers can be found at Summit. Once you decide which one you want try the part number at Rock Auto, sometimes they are cheaper there.

I just got a universal fan switch off ebay, has set on/off points and that runs things just fine. I think it is 195 on/180 off, can't remember for sure.
