Clutch/starter safety switch wiring

I require a working clutch/starter disengage switch to pass a safety inspection.

Wiring for mine has been removed , but the switch in front of clutch remains.

Can the wire from ignition switch to starter solenoid be run through the clutch switch to disable the starter when clutch pedal is not pressed ?

Would this switch handle the current ?

Thanks

Are you running fuel injection on your Ford? If so just wire it up to the Ford computer like the Mazda one was and you will be good to go.

To answer your question on the switch it probably would do it but I would be leery of just wiring it direct. The clutch switch on the Mazda system only carries a 5v ground signal with a few milliamps of current to the computer. The starter solenoid is a big solenoid and takes 12v and a couple amps to fire. The switch might take it but it is far more current than it would normally carry the way Mazda built the system.

It would be kind of weird but you could put a little relay in it. Or just try it and know that if you turn the key and nothing happens the switch probably toast.
