Default 5.0 NB factory tach & speedo working???

I just bought a 99 Monster conversion. The tach and speedo are not working. Also, they used a Painless 5.0 kit.

Does everyone elses tach and speedo work?

I have not really started to look at the car that much.

Default Speedometer issue

I am in the process of installing a 5.0 in a 2001 (NB). . The big difference between the 1st generation (NA) and 2nd generation (NB) is the lack of a speedometer cable in the NB model, they use an electronic signal. I used the VSS signal from the T-5 tranny and ran it through a Dakota signal converter to the speedometer input on the dash.

Default Tach

On my 2001, the tach wire is Green/orange and it connects to plug# 2 on the back of the instrument cluster (pin 2K).

The speedometer is on the same plug, the orange wire on pin 2M
