What Size Tires?

My 302 is due to arrive from Ca. this Fri. I've got Sun. booked for the track. What size tires for the track. The engine is a stock 90, 302. Right now it's got 16" tires and not sure of the sizes. I know the rear tires are 10" wide. But, this was for a 351 stroked to 427. that eventually blew. Also, any recommendations for alignment specs? This is strictly a track car, minimal street usage.

225/45-15 on 8-inch rims seems like a pretty popular size for V8's for street and track. I've used 225/50's as well but they require fender rolling (Most likely already done to your soon-to-arrive Monster Miata). With "stock" 1990 302 power I don't think you'd need anything wider than 225.

It's got 225-50-16 in front. 265-45-16 on rear. I've got a bunch of Kosei K1's.
15-7's. I'd really like to use those if I can. Maybe keep my 205-50-15 up front and go to a 225 or slightly wider if the wheel can support it.
Not really sure what the advantage would be of going to 16"s. I prefer the 15's because I've got them and also for space. I carry the 4 extra 15's in the rear of my Pacifica tow vehicle. I need to do more research.

I was going to ask if 225 50 15's would fit on the front of a miata, but if you have 225 50 16's on the front i assume they should fit? Or do you have rolled fenders etc to make that size work?
Doesnt matter, since im going to order 225 45 15's all around, just for curiosity sake (my car came with 225 50 15 rear 225 45 15 front) would they fit?

The 225-50-16's fit OK with no rolled fenders. Not even close to being tight. The rear is another story. Rolled fenders with flares the 265-45-16's look like they are shoe horned in there.
