Hankook Ventus RS4 ?

Since tires, experiences and opinions keep evolving... what's current thought on the Hankook RS4? My aim is (of course) excellent traction but primarily on public roads. I'll do very little track driving. I don't care much about tread life. I do want reasonable wet grip and hydroplaning resistance in case I get caught in some rain. And sure, I may do a rare track day. I'm running 15X8 949 Racing wheels on a 2001 with an LS3, looking at 225/45 tires. Is this the tire to get, or other recommendation? Thanks all-

Tire rack mentioned

When I was deciding to switch tires the they were my go to choice. The tire track representative mentioned that their wet weather characteristics wasn’t as good as the BF Goodrich rivals a since they were back ordered I went for the Toyo Proxes R1R in 225/45ZR-15 I went from break loose in 1st to 3rd and scared to touch the gas in wet to pushing to find the enjoyable limit every chance.

just my 2cents

I run R1Rs as well, for summer street and track. Decent tire, thought I bought them pre-mounted with 949 wheels as a package from FM back a couple years, it was the only tire choice available for what I needed at the time. I'd probably look at the RS4 if I needed new tires now.

225/45 should fit fine for your car, I'd look at 245s myself and massage the car where needed to fit for the track. Or at least try and stagger with more tire in the back.
