Default New here - monster has heat issues??

Hi I am new to this forum and had my first question.

First off I just finished all the main portions of my monster but on my first 7 mile drive the car got so hot that the left over rubber type material starting melting!! Most of that junk was removed by me a long time ago and I remember how long it took me to take off w/ a heat gun. Even the stuff in the trunk melted.

My question is. Are monsters suppose to get this hot. If so I wouldn't think carpets should go

I imagine from the photo that your mufflers are cooking the trunk area. You may need to add some heat shield material under the muffler area. Get used to modifying, adjusting and changing things especially after initial start up and trial runs. Welcome to monster ownership.

This is called the cars "teething period".

Your mufflers are either too close to the bottom of the trunk or you need to add some heat shielding. Keep in mind that if it's running too lean the exhaust is going to be hotter than normal. If you still need to work on your tune that could be an issue as well.
