na or nb
 

what does na and nb mean what are the diffrences between the two i am new to miatas i dont own one yet but i wanna get one and do a v8 swap .
also what exactly is needed in doing a swap i want to put a 5.0 with ac in the car what will i need for this?? would i need a mustang computer and all the wiring harnesses ..and so on i would like to start finding everything i need to do the swap before i start on it i plan on driving it stock for awhile untill i get everything together which is better to do the swap in the na or nb miata

An na is the first generation of Miata & nb is the second generation. If you are planning on a 5.0 swap, I would suggest the na because of the kit available from Monster Miata. Check your local emission laws BEFORE you do anything, or you might end up with a bad-ass car that you can not drive on public roads.

NA has pop up headlights and NB has fixed lights in the nose. The NB is said to offer a little more room for radiator and air intake duct. I wouldn't know for sure though 'cause all 8 of my Miatas have been NA's!
