LS2 in 92 - current Evap system?

What's the current thinking on how to do gas tank venting/evap? Posts here are pretty thin, the best being this one:

I'm trying to do a mostly shaved bay and the charcoal can is butt-arse ugly. Has anyone come up with a more elegant (and less visible) solution? Perhaps using a smaller round charcoal can (there seems to be a few for Suzuki bikes that are that style).

This product intrigues me:

Take a look at the diagram in the instructions, pretty simple. $170 vent thing with clamp plus the $10 vent and you are good to go... Downsides are the thing has to be higher than the gas tank and has to be mounted vertical. Also you need a non-vented gas cap.

Thoughts?

Found this very helpful, concise write up of the 05-06 GTO EVAP system with diagram..

Looks like I can replicate it with the $25 solenoid and a charcoal can and just run the factory evap controls. But if I am going to spend $125+ (cans runs around $100) why not just buy the fancy can-less solution I posted previously and not have to screw around with the wiring and programming? I'm in Michigan so this is purely to avoid fuel smell, not mandated emissions testing.
