I'll second that. I have a set in my car. Next to the actual shocks springs, they made the biggest improvement in handling of anything I've done to the car.

Anyone installed these after already having frame rail stiffeners. Wondering if they are worth it to have both or if its over kill...

You really don't get much chassis stiffening out of those frame rail covers. Sure the frame rails are much improved but the vertical walls at each end of them (the fulcrum) remains unsupported. Door bars add the 3rd leg of the triangle to support the back half of the car and significantly improve the structure. This shows how they work.

The bars that are on sale bolt right in & are powdercoated. They come with backing plates & hardware, also. They are longer than the ones that Jim posted, & thet sit up higher. VERY heavy duty.

I must be the most disconnected driver ever. I don't notice any 'wet noddle' effect. All I have (that I know of) is the frame rail covers and frog arms. But if I was to consider a bolt in door bar the Boss Frog solution would get my green.

I have a hard time understanding how the bend at the front of the factory made ones is a benefit yet most of them have it. If the goal is to make a triangle then near as I could tell all a bend near the front does is make them stick up so they are in the way more. So why couldn't it just go straight from the heel of the guys foot to the same mount in back? Michaels comment on the Boss Frog bars is interesting. From a triangle point of view I understand them even less. I like the idea of adding the gusset down to the seat belt bolt, which creates 2 triangles, but they do not go near far enough forward and the bump in the middle adds pointless height to climb over every day. IMO these DIY for 80 bucks less are way better both for the structure of the car and ease of use. Speaking of ease of use, what you don't see in mine is there is a 1x1" box on the floor that continues forward to the firewall. The back end of the bar is part of the roll bar mount. So I used the same 1 1/4 tubing as that Hard Dog and started and ended at the same place but got it out of the way by leaving the front bend out and running the front 5 inches under the carpet.
