clutch fork spring

I have the t 5 trans installed, are you supposed to have a return spring on the clutch fork,so the throw out bearing does not wear out.

No. It is to be in contact with the pressure plate.

The Ford throwout is designed to have a little bit of preload on it. Adjust it in until it just begins to push the clutch and then take the car out and test it. If you can go up a hill with the car floored and in 5th gear without slippage you're set to the right amount of preload.
