I HATE Speed Bumps!

I never really liked them before but good grief....
I'm still running the stock daisy's with stock 14 inch tires and the car is slightly lower than stock. I deliberately tried to keep the exhaust up as high as possible where it goes from the wheel well and under the frame into the tunnel but it is in the perfect place as the wheels come down over the speed bump for the pipes to hit. And those sections of pipe took some time to fab up but are now becoming a "wear" part! https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1440002171 https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1440002171 Did I mention that I hate speed bumps? |
I feel your pain... But, I am more worried about my oil drain plug. I think I'm going to have to fab up a skid plate for that, its the lowest part of my undercarriage. I have visions of leaving a trail of oil in a parking lot somewhere...

How much clearance do you have between inside of tire and header downtube at full lock. Looks tight.
I hate speed bumps with a passion. Im about to fab my exhaust up and will try my best to tuck up as high as possible. My rub spot will be at the rear end though. |

I've not had any issues with the rear of the car. I kept the pipes up as high as possible. |

I caught my drain plug on a raised manhole cover one night a few years ago and did exactly that. I have since chamfered the leading edge of my drain plug, raised the suspension, and been more careful. I do wish my exhaust was a hair lower and further forward to protect it.
