Mustang 5.0 Superchargers

I have an old foxbody Mustang engine. I created my Monster in 2004. I inched along slowly making engine and body mods to my car. I'm afraid I may have waited too long. Seems like the best fitting supercharger for my build is a Kenne Bell 2.1 Flowzilla/Blowzilla running 8-10psi. They have discontinued making it. Last year they made a few on special order. But as of right now, nothing in the near future. I know a local mechanic that has built 13 Mustang drag racers. He told me that my 1991 5.0 HO engine can only take about 500hp at the crank. Over that you are tempting fate, splitting the block, destroying the crank. They are just not built for it. So, my question, has any of you out there installed a supercharger that fits under the hood without mods to the hood? I have looked at Vortech, Paxon, etc... I have heard that you can space the body up off the engine by adding spacers to the K Member. I'm OK with that, if it works. I want to keep that stock Miata look in order to remain a sleeper. What have you guys done out there that I can put some trust in?
