Mopar Kits?

Hello to all. I am very interested in building one of these Miatas. Does anyone know whether kits are available for using a Dodge truck 4.7 powerplant? I have access to one of these at a very reasonable cost - engine and auto tranny are good, but body is pretty much trash.
Thanks,
Woody

Woody, the quick answer is no. I'm in the Mopar crowd with an extra 1970 stock 340 in the shop that I'd love to use. However it'd be a all custom fab project with an engine that makes great old school power, it's just wide and heavy when compared to the LS and little Ford engines.

I honestly don't know the details on a 4.7, might not be to hard to do.....if you are a great fabricator with a well equipped shop (welder, torch, lift, kind of equipped).

The engine is by far the cheapest part of the build. Much better to go with a proven, supported power package.

Good luck, RR

5.0MX5,
Thanks for the info. I don't have a shop so well-equipped, so I will continue to plan toward either oval or bowtie power.

If you do your best on either, they will both give you a grin from ear to ear for YEARS :D
