351w Fitment Question

I know and understand that a 302 is small and one of the easiest swaps for a Miata.

My question is this... Since a GM LS engine is also considered an "easy swap" and a LS and a Ford 351w are dimensionally similar, why is the 351w considered a "difficult swap" and not worth doing ?

Thanks

I'm building a 427 Windsor NB Miata. Custom headers and subframe modification are necessary. V8R subframe will make the job easier. The hood will need to be breached except possibly if you use a Torker 2 intake. Martin Wilson at Monster Miata has a lot of items to make the swap easier. It can be done and don't listen to the naysayers. My V8 Miata will be a poor mans Shelby Cobra 427. It should be completed Spring 2026.
