V6 Trans behind 302
So many of u know I got screwed buying my trans after posting some questions on a local mustang forums I got this response back.
You'll need the bellhousing from a 94/95 5.0 and you will have to relocate the transmission crossmember mount rearward 3/4". Also the shifter placement will be 3/4" further back and the driveshaft 3/4" shorter than Fox dimensions. IMHO if you can find a bellhousing then it shouldn't make any difference at all because everything will be custom made anyway. Now I am not sure if the clutch and flywheel I have for the 98 3.8 trans that I have will work or if I will have to pick up one from a 93 since I have a 93 block. The 98's v6 I am told only hold about 20 lbs less than a standard 5.0 t-5. Now looking for a 94-95 bellhousing is tough and they go for a ton of money. WIll a 93 bellhousing work? I can get one from a friend of mine cheap. |
Six,the '93 bell housing is too short. In other words the input shaft on the '94-95 t5 is longer than the '93.

I have the bell housing for the v6 98 will it work or can I use a 93 and a spacer? I looked at 94-95s and the want too much for them even used.

Think it might I realize I will need 5.0 clutch, flywheel and fork as my block is 93 302 but think it may work. Don't know if I will need a different pilot bearing. And not sure as of the wiring. The 98 has a few wires on it so....? |
I have a 94-95 5.0 bellhousing for sale. I will send you a P/M.

A 3.8 bell will not work on a 5.0. It's too narrow and has a different bolt pattern.
