Traction to the ground.
 

Just curious about getting all that power to the ground. Traction control of some sort?

Curious about your experiences, 0-60 times, and how much they're hindered by traction issues, and what can be done about it. :confused:

My experiences have all been positive. Just use a little common sense! If the vehicle is rolling (@ 5mph or so) and I give it WOT no wheel spin at all. I'm on 225's with a 3.73 rear and see 60 in less than 4 sec. If I want to spin them its just 3000 rpm and dump the clutch and depending upon the tire budget they will smoke to the rims!
During road driving the issue is being in the correct gear, if you down shift for a corner and give it too much throttle the rear will pass you up. So as I said its just a matter of a little common sense.

Your reply is especially interesting to me, because your car is *exactly* the same spec as the one I'm in the middle of building. Same engine, rearend gears, tires, etc.

You say once you're rolling at 5 mph, traction is no issue ... you must mean 3rd gear, right? ;-)

No I mean in 1st gear straight line. Of course if I just flick the steering wheel a little bit the back end will break loose. I don't know if this traction ablity is the result of the combination of suspension components ( V8R arms all around, FM AFCO shocks with FM recomended springs) or just luck but it's amazing. Most people in the passanger seat are amazed at the acceleration (so am I haha)
I know you will be very pleased when you are finished. I had some reservations about the set up during my build but Jeremy at FM said he always wished someone would build a V8 with the 3.73 rear end setup. The car will cruise on the highway 2050rpm@70mph and still get 28-29 mpg!
To say the least I'm very pleased with the end result but I would also say that the cost was about 50% higher than I expected. Also sorry it took so long to answer but I've been out of town for 2 weeks. I hope this helps and keeps the motivational jucies flowing at a high rate. GET HER DONE!!!

I thought about this all weekend due to the fact that you expected so much performance. Well the short story is just take alook at my profile. I live in Colorado (at 9000 ft to boot) so I'm down 25-30 % in hp due the elevation. DUH!!

Just curious what camshaft are you using with your setup? Reason I'am asking I am looking at using a L92 (from what i've read same as LS3 with different cam and intake) however, I've heard issues with over camming these motors causing driveability problems.

These are GM crate motors, basically an LS3 with a GM 'Hotcam' installed. You can buy a GM programmed PCM for them that is supposedly set up for this engine. People who have theirs running (not me yet) say that the factory tune is VERY rich. They are sold by GM as a street motor, the driveability should be fine.
