Nice. I can't believe how cheap this stuff is after the fact on maintenance items. My beautiful handling/feeling bmw is losing its appeal more and more. I can barely buy a used 20 yr old trans for that much.

 

WOW 1000 bucks for a trans what's not to love about that! I should get one for a spare or my next build whatever that might me. I really do like having 6 gears though....

 

That is exactly what I was thinking. Might have to order one for my next build, whatever that might be.

Be aware that the World class T5(M 7003-Z with all the bells and whistles is Rebuilt. If you look at Jegs online link provided by TBone you'll see that they compare both trannies. Same specs however the $999.99 version has an R suffix. That price for the rebuild is in line with other suppliers rebuilt units Looking and choosing carefully since I'm about to pick one up.......

 

Yes it is rebuilt,but I do not think that you could buy a rebuild kit & all of the gears & stuff to convert a World class T-5 into a T-5z for the price of a totally rebuilt unit with no core charge.

 

Thing is we are not talking about an ebay vendor here and Jeggs is not going to take a chance with their reputation on a crummy supplier. That and I put $1250 just in parts in my T56 to rebuild it so this looks like a pretty good deal to me.

 

Lucky for me I am within a 15 minute drive of Hanlon Motorsports

Sorry folks, bad news.

I just called Jegs and apparently they are long gone. Ford was experimenting with rebuilding old T5's to T5z specs and decided it was not a good idea so they had Jegs "liquidate" them with this sale. It's a shame, I would have jumped on one if they were still available. I picked up my trans used with the bell for $150 four years and 20K miles ago. I know its only a matter of time before it goes and though this would be a great way to get that component taken care of now while I could still get some money for the old one.

What is this Hanlon Motorsports you speak of...
