clutch master cylinder

Hi

I have a Wilwood .75" dia. clutch master cylinder.The problem is I can't get
enough travel to get the clutch to release.I am sure i got all the air out of the system. The pedal is hard trough out the travel. The setup is from BrossFrog.
They say they haven,t had any problems. Should I go to a .875" or 1" bore cylinder.Right now the clutch barely releases. The clutch and slave cylinder are
on a LS1.

If you are getting full travel still, you have air in the system or it is not adjusted properly. I had to cut off a bit of the rod, but still don't think I cut enough.

That is the problem. The travel on the cylinder is 1.400". I can only get about .625" with the rod in the stock location.I can move the rod pivot point down further to get more travel, but then it puts the rod on quite a angle to the cylinder.

I took the pedal assembly out of mine and moved the clutch switch mount a little. Then I bent the pedal arm up a little more and welded a peice of flat iron to the side of it to make it more like angle iron which stiffend it up. I then moved the rod to the lower hole on the pedal. I am now able to use the stock LS1 T56 slave and a 1/2" Howe master cylinder. The effort is much better than the 3/4" master.

I think we'll be doing some welding to my pedal. It keeps twisting, and somehow its killed the master cylinder rod, clevis, and the hole in the clutch pedal.

"I got this" :)

Clutch pedal is now as strong as fort knox. Welded some 1/4 inch plate to it (its all we had around here) at the top and down the sides. Now I just need to redrill the hole for the MC rod. I'm hoping the welding rod is a good deal stronger then the stamped steel that oblonged out.

Anyone else find the metal from the Miata a real pain to weld? Like its been used for 100+ years..... Like maybe old metal from US battle ships?

Good!!

Its all in the prep man. If it was from a US battle ship, it would weld like a dream! Its probably left over steel from the 90's ford F-150 line. LOL
