I am thinking about changing my v8 Miata which currently has a t-5 to a c-4 automatic. I do some light bracket racing and am looking for more consistency.

When I am not out on Saturdays at the local track I only use my car for pleasure and am tired of always changing gears in traffic.

Does anybody know if I can use the manual transmission tranny cross-member with this swap? I have the transmission cross-member that comes with the monster Miata kit from Martin.

Did you ever swap to an auto ?

 

c4s are not very big compared to a T56 that the GM guys use or the bigger autos guys put in these cars so yeah it would fit easy. My question is why use an old dog 3 speed trans when an over drive trans will fit? Tbone is right trans mounts are a very simple structure and would be easy to tweak to an auto. Probably a bigger problem is finding room for a trans cooler especially if you have A/C and a steering cooler already in front of the radiator.
