8.8 differential specs needed for th 5.0 conversion
 

What should the tag on the 8.8 differential have stamped on it. What are the specs needed for the 8.8 differential to be used with the 5.0 conversion? Thank you for your answers

The tag will say something like "3L08" for a traction-lock 3.08 ratio. Or "3L27" for a traction-lock 3.27 ratio. The "L" will not be there, just a space, for an open rear.

There is also a door sticker that has a code that will help locate the right rear end, at least it narrows the field for the ones to climb under to read the tag. See the very end of this blog page:
