Question about whether to build or buy V8 Miata
I don't have a lot of time to work on projects and I'm working with a budget of $26,000 so I can't afford to have Flyin Miata build one for me. Is it possible to find a low miles LSx swapped Miata for sale in that price range or is that unrealistic? I've never taken on a project of this magnitude so I am nervous building it myself.
You may find one built for that price, but you'll need to be patient. LS swapped cars don't come up often. There are a few posted here in that range. ...Haven't looked to see if they are sold. I ended up buying a second owner FM build, but they carry a premium. Worth it or not is up to the buyer.
I'v seen some for that price and less for sale here.
It's usually cheaper to buy something like this than build it. And if you don't have a lot of time, it could take a year or more to do the swap.

Flipping this over to FAQs so more guys see it and because it is an excellent conversion question.
OP +1 to what these guys said. There is not many good ones but if you can watch the market for 6 months to a year you will probably see more than one that would be a good fit for you at that price. There are several recent examples in the for sale section that will give you a feel for things.
