CARB legal building
Cuz legal & emissions section, where I posted like hours ago, seems almost inactivated, I’m posting here again: I’m planning to build LSx miata with NB, and I heard that E-rod engines will satisfy CARB requirements. I know that I must install CARB legal exhaust manifold to pass smog check. Q1. What else? Do I need something more? Q2. Will I lose some power to pass smog check? Q2. How much is ls conversion costs at monster miata? Ian |

Someone said it will be $30+k Is that correct? |
That is if you send it to Flyin Miata and have them do it.

You mean Monster Miata is cheaper than FM right? |
Not sure on the pricing to have a Monster built. The DIY kit from Monster is around 5K, plus engine and necessary parts, then your time. I've been working on my Monster build from 4 years now, but have had a lot of distractions/holdups that have taken time away from it.

Not sure if you realize, but the e-rod is only good for 1995 and older. The e-rod setup does not do any good for you if you use an NB, it is ONLY CARB LEGAL for 1995 and older. ONLY. Keep researching before you pull the trigger on anything.
