Default ANOTHER V6 Miata Conversion Kit!!!!

Jim, I think we need to create a V6 area because...

Low and Behold, another V6 kit has hit the market

This time the engine used is the Ford jaguar 3.0 V6. It sounds awesome in the youtube video below:

Here's the link to the company, "Rocketeer" which can be found on the other side of the pond:

Rocketeer V6 MX-5 3.0 V6 MX5 engine conversion for Mazda MX-5 / Miata

Price: 5695 Pounds Sterling + shipping to "the colonies" + a used Jag engine

Another interesting aspect to this engine is that its a derivative of the Ford ecotech v6, which is also the same thing as a Mazda aJ v6. If the bellhousing bolt patterns are the same across all ecotech v6 engines this could really open an interesting opportunity for those who want to keep with an all-Mazda driveline with a v6.

Thoughts?

(and on a similar note, if Mazda had dropped a Ford 5.0 in the Navaho JUST ONE YEAR we'd be able to call a Monster Miata all-Mazda as well).

So I did a little more research into the bell housing bolt pattern question. It turns out that all Duratec V6 engines regardless of actual make share the same pattern.

Additionally, the legendary Ford/Yamaha Taurus SHO V8 also does!

Using this guy's adapter plate we could bolt SHO V8 to a Mazda Miata five or six speed!
This was discussed YEARS ago as an awesome swap candidate but pretty much discounted due to the fact that no non transverse transmission could be bolted to it. This is pretty cool.

The SHO V8 is by far the coolest aspect of this but I think the most practical is the fact that now you could pretty easily bolt a 2.5 or 3.0 version of the Duratec V6 Mazda used to the Miata trans giving you a bolt-together "All Mazda" V6 option.

This is, BTW, the same engine that Mazda used to make their own NB V6 prototype back in 2003. They also used some type of adapter plate but ran into a problem when they tried to find a Ford parts bin intake manifold that would fit under the NB hood. Rocketeer has solved that issue by designing their own carbon fiber dual throttle intake that uses two 1.8 liter Miata throttle bodies!

They are currently working with Exocet to install one of their kits with a Jaguar V6 into an Exocet frame. This is all getting pretty cool
