Couple of questions
 

I bought a V8 Roadsters subframe and some other new (unused) parts from a guy who did not end up building a car and have a couple of questions. He bought them from another guy so I can't just ask.

Are all V8 Roadsters LS subframes "rear mount" when referring to engine placement? I saw in Flyin Miata's instructions that tunnel modifications is only necessary with the rear mount subframe. The only ones I have seen that are not are Boss Frogs. If both exist how do I tell what I have?

Also, how do I tell if I have an NA or NB sub? I remember seeing somewhere it had to do with the rack and pinion mounting. My apologies, I just realized there was another topic just posted that addresses this

Pretty sure V8R subframes do not have an engine placement option, putting it within less than an inch of the firewall (at the passenger side head).

Besides steering rack differences, I think the mounting bolts/studs are a larger diameter in NB subframes.

There was an option for a forward mount from V8R but I wouldn't know the measurements to check. V8R or FM probably would.

The difference in the NA vs NB is in the steering rack mounting since the racks are different. On the NA the mounts will be the same on both sides, the NB bolt spacing is a bit closer on the drivers side. I was sent an NB subframe by mistake and the drivers side bracket didn't line up.

Years ago when they first developed the V8R kit there was a forward mount / no firewall cut option but it was dropped 3 or 4 years ago. Any idea how old your kit is?

I have just taken over the conversion portion of V8 Roadsters. This allows Steve to concentrate on R&D and new product releases and Shandelle to increase production and manufacturing capacity. An official press release is forthcoming. Reason for my post is that only 2 forward mount kits were ever made. Chances of you having one is very, very slim. Both kits are in cars so if the parts you have are unused then you definitely do not have a forward mount kit.

I have been able to get in touch with the guy that owned the parts before the guy I got them from. Turns out I do have an NB rear mount sub.
