Got the brake bug - my upgrade
 

After brakes faded fast at the track, used advice from here and some guys out at the track. Here is what I did. My car is a 1992 and already had 1994 brakes on it.

For the front, I used the 949 Racing adapter kit and installed VW Corrado Turbo rotors and used my existing 1994 caliper. Added some Carbotech XP10 pads.

For the rear, I swapped everything out for the 2004 Miata Sport equipment. This included rotors and calipers (for the larger piston). Added some Carbotech XP8 pads.

I found rotors and calipers at Rockauto for the best price.

I will be bleeding the lines and adding DOT4 fluid tonight. My new 15x9's and 225's will be in Tuesday.

Ill get some pics of rear with calipers mounted later.

I had some 3/4 in spacers on the 15x7's and Ill measure the 15x9's when they get in to push them out into the flares. Ill order the appropriate spacer for that.

THose pads should be all the difference.

If you still have problems with fluids, do yourself a favor and get castrol srf. What type of oil do you have in the car? Is it synthetic? That could be overkill (depending on change intervals and heat retention), but you use it as extra insurance with heat retention. Right? what I am trying to say is Castrol is $80/litre and could prevent fade and feels a bit better. And might last the whole season. Now is it more expensive?

Why not use it?
"It costs the most". Sure yes it does, but it also doesn't break down like the benefits of synthetic engine oil, and or has a better wet boiling point (- ignore dry - as soon as you open the can it's exposed to air/humidity...), but it adds a bit of stiffness or firmness. Like 1/4 of a Viagra pill.

Really nice brake set up! I had not heard of Castrol srf so that is good to know. Great thread!
