Brake Bias Valve

I purchased an adjustable brake bias valve a while back from Flyin Miata Flyin' Miata : Chassis : Brakes : Complete adjustable brake proportioning kit & was going to install it. Has anybody purchased one of these & installed it in the drivers compartment & not under the hood? If so, where did you mount it & how did you run the lines?

There are some pics on FM's site of how they hooked one up in the handbrake area on one of their track cars. I'm not a big fan of linking to FM but I'm sure a quick search will find it.

I put one in my car to balance the wilwood fronts I have with the stock rears. It makes a big difference but seems to need readjusting for any change in pads or tires. Also make sure they sent you the right brake union before you start taking things apart. Mine had a non-metric union thrown in instead which cost me a trip to autozone.

I almost did that with mine but decided the last thing I need to be doing is messing with a valve at speed on a road course. The other thing is with it exposed inside it could be bumped or messed with and be a really bad deal.

I've had them on a couple cars and basically it takes about 3 trips around an autocross track to find the sweet spot and you probably won't touch it again.

Have you ran into any inspection issues with it mounted in the cockpit like that? I can't imagine I'd get through PA inspection like that but I could be wrong.

Mine is mounted out under the hood in the stock prop valve location. I'd love to have it where yours is.

No inspection in Georgia, just emissions.

Why would PA have an issue? (curiosity)

Cockpit adjustable porportioning valve

Not sure about the US, but in BC the DOT's ( Dept. of Transport) has made cockpit accessible valves illegal. Something about the possibility of using for stunting, lol.

Really, just like electric cut outs, Das Verboden!!! screws take all our fun away.

Catch me if you can
