Does anyone think there would be any value in having a separate heading under "Classifieds" for the membership to just post up any good deals of general, V8 Miata interest they happen to run across?

I occasionally run across what looks to be a great deal or offer I'd like to share with the community but am never sure of the right place to do it. I'd love to be able to scan down a list of deals others have seen, especially when I'm shopping for something.

For example, sometimes I'll get a coupon code for 20% off all auto parts from one of the big national stores. Sometimes I see a great buy on something I don't need but others might. I just now bought some new, silicone air intake fittings and a high performance, cone type air filter from ebay at about 25% of their normal retail price, and the guy has more of them; he bought a boat load of them at a bankrupt vendor's auction. I'm betting others would like to know.

I have another hobby and use a website where members just post any bargains they happen to see and want to share; it is immensely useful in finding good deals. Lots of deals come and go quickly, but that's okay because the newest posts keep going to the top and the old stuff gets buried.

Moderators would have to decide on the rules, and keep it from becoming littered with "not really good deals" posted by eager vendors. The concept I'm thinking about is just members sharing with other members, and perhaps site sponsors listing any bonafide specials. Any thoughts?

 

Promoting non supporting vendors would likely be an issue. I have seen Craigslist/eBay finds threads in other forum classifies for a similar purpose.

Now I just have to figure out how to have instant email notification to any new threads there and we got a lock!
