Are there any shops around the eastern side that's able to a ls1 swap on a Miata? I would do it myself, but I don't trust myself and don't know anybody with the experience.

I am curious as to what exactly you don't trust about yourself. IMO there is not one step on the process an average guy with average tools can't do. But you have to look at it one step at a time not the entire project. Can you take the 4 bolts out that hold the hood on? Can you follow one red wire from the computer to be sure it goes to the fuse box? Then with a lot of research and planning you probably have what it takes to build one.
