Cool Local Track now paved - Area 27 -

Happy happy days, local track just finished prepping and paving the course. I am excited to run my V8 Miata around to see what it can do.

I would love to purchase a membership but $35 000.00 plus $3500.00 membership fee is a tad steep for my blood. I actually think they price it like this so all the cheque book racers don't get embarrassed by DIY'ers. Lets face it, the reason we are DIY'ers is we can't justify spending the amount required to hire a shop or buy a fast exotic that meets our expectations of cash outlay. My father used to run a small rail at the local drag strip when I was young with a dodge slant 6 fed by a T04 turbo, no waste gate. That engine would swallow all the boost it could make. Long story short the car was faster then most of the big cheque built V8 Supercharged Rails and the V8 boys complained so much they started a 6 cylinder class, freakin winers. Don't get me wrong I love to win and nothing satisfies me more then when I toast a big money car after comments like, " That cobbled together piece of **** ". My 79 mustang drag car looks fairly stock except for the high rise but that's where it stops, LOOKS, hehe. Even has Iron heads, Boss 302 4V mind you, however at 8500 RPM on a 300 hit of laughing gas I seem to be the only one laughing. My mustang is too well know so now the Oh Hum Red MX5 will hopefully bait a few more cheque book suckers.
Check out Area 27, looks like a blast, looking forward to giving it a go. Lap me some exotics, lol.
