What axles would be needed? Do the axles need to be shortened?

Rocco 10-25-2011 02:03 AM

they would take the 28 spline ford t bird outer half shaft.

SofaKing 10-25-2011 07:43 AM

Would stock T-Bird axles need to be shortened and resplined, or does the stock length work?

7.5 rear or 8.8?

I have a 28 spline 8.8 center section. What I am trying to determine is, with these broached hubs, what else do I need to have a complete useable axle? I am assuming that I need the inner CV joint and axle shaft from a 28 spline T-Bird. What I don't know is what axle and what modifications need to be done to it to make it work. If I need to have an axle shortened and resplined, I may as well have it resplined to match the stock Miata hubs.

I agree, The DRIVESHAFT SHOP has the same exact axles you need. There $650 plus shipping

Those are only rated to 400hp.
The GOOD ones are at the bottom of that page & cost A LOT more.

For a street driven daily driver, I think a 400 HP rating will suffice.

Like anybody would only want 400hp. I wonder what the torque rating is?
