V8 Miata as a daily driver? Yes please.

Hi everybody!

I have had my 90' Miata base model for almost a year now. It was one of those base model options that came with no AC or stereo, but I deal with it because of how fun and easy to keep cool even in Arizona. I have been doing small things like new Robbins top I successfully installed myself, Vary front lip, 15" wheels, NRG racing wheel, and a pair of bucket seats for a milti point harness in the future. I got some long tube headers and plan to do the D.I.Y. intake, but I know the real way to go and enjoy this car is to do the V8 swap. I am keeping current power mods simple and economic till I have everything I need to do the LS swap. This is going to be a long term project set for most likely next year since my current project car is taking priority. One project car at a time from now one for me :P I will be hanging out mostly with just reading up on other builds and learning as time goes on.

Check out my profile to learn more about me if you like and thank you for creating a forum for sharing info on what I consider one of the greatest car engine combo's you can possibly own.

Hi Bryan and welcome to the forum! Couldn't agree more that the V8 Miata is one of the best combos ever!! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress and following your build when you get into it. You are on the right track for sure reading and planning now.

A bit off topic but I'm a big sim racing fan too and I'd love to hear more about your sim rigs. I'm in Minnesota so the Miata is in a shed under feet of snow for 6 months of the year and sim racing league is great fun on cold nights. IMO no car guy should be with out a proper sim rig!

Great to have you in the forum!

I have been getting more requests about this from car and sim racing enthusiasts in that part of the States. I can only imagine the frustration having to wait out a whole season just to drive the car you love. I am currently working on a new rig design and will be doing a made to order type of service for people who want them. If you watched my videos, I have one guy in ND who wants everything done and shipped to him and we agreed to a total of $1650 plus shipping. This is including the wheel, accessories, mods, seat, everything done and ready to plug and play when it arrives to his place.

All of the money I make goes into the Return to Drifting Fund. This includes anything for my car build to enter proam comp drifting again, but with a more competitive setup as well as entry fees and traveling. I plan to get some sponsors again, but not trying to count on it to make it out to events.
