A Typical new guy intro

Salutations to all.

I am very new here but not in the Miata world. I had a 97 with the 1.8 and a good suspension setup (KYB AGX with H&R springs), I really miss that car sometimes. I have also owned a 90 Mustang Gt.

As of now, I do not own a Miata but I did just by a 94 roller 302 block and a pair of 351 D00E C heads. The heads are useless for what I am going to use the block for but for $100 for the block and heads, I couldnt pass it up.

So what are my goals?
I want to build a 400hp block and do a clean install in a Miata whether it be an Na or Nb. I wouldnt mind either of the two.

Why dont I have a Miata now?
I currently live in an apartment complex so a project I cant really do anything major right now besides collect the parts I need and research. I am trying to find a roommate with a garage once my lease is up.

What do I spend my time on now?
I currently am building up my 06 ZX6R. So far I have spent $8,000 in parts trying to get her to be unique. Ill more than likely end up selling it for a half that just to try and get a miata and the parts needed for the swap.

I aslo dabble in photography and have a few grand wrapped up with that as well.

I am hoping to learn a lot from you guys and build this V8 in my apartment and get it ready for a move next year.

Cheers
Helical

P.S. Tell me what you think

Welcome Welcome, I too started collecting parts before I had a car secured. It sucks because you don't have the car to work on, but on the other hand it gives you time to find the car that is just right for your build.

Good luck!

Welcome! I have a 2005 zx6rr that just dropped a valve so I'm rebuilding the engine with a 636 rotating assembly and head because mine got trashed.
