Ryan in North Atlanta suburbs . . . ready to build!

Hey all. Like most of the newbies, I've been trolling for a while but finally took the plunge and bought a 1991 Miata over the Thanksgiving break. Found out that the car had been sitting for ~18 months . . . and I had to drive it 5 hours back to Georgia!

Made it! She's now in my garage and half apart already.

I've been a Jeep guy for years (1990 Wrangler with a 383 stroker). So I've dabbled in fixing some of my own stuff, but have never tackled anything of this magnitude.

I'll start up a build thread shortly. Looking forward to going fast!!:skid:

Welcome. I am new myself - currently on the hunt for a suitable car. So, got any pictures of the car you just bought and what are your plans for it (SBF or LS)?

Glad you're both here and have joined this V8Roadster community. Please do share your build plans - I'm guessing GM power for this ATL build. And please join us for a meet up at The Mitty this April - should be several Ford and LSx cars there for bench racing and fun!

I'm planning on installing a SBF. I've attached a "before" pic of the beast.

Looks like a nice clean car to start with. Happy to see people still doing Ford builds. I'd have loved to done a LSx but it would have cost nearly double what I spent so far on my Ford build.
Keep the pics coming.

Good luck on your build. Where are you located in Georgia?

Yes sir, that is a nice looking white MX5 -- my favorite color as well. I took a "swing and a miss" and assumed Bowtie when I saw you did the 383 ci in the Jeep. Never assume - I should know that by now! Ford small block will be great. Please start a Build Thread when you're ready to present the build plan and go from there!

LOL yeah Pat but that would be the only time you ever missed!

Welcome to the forum! You may notice we all have what our car is in our sig line and now you see why. Check out this thread as you get to know your way around.

Hope you can make the Mitty and I'm looking forward to you build!

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

tbone - I'm in the Berkeley Lake (Duluth) area - across town from you.

Snake - good guess on the Chevy, but I'm going to try something new on this one. I have a good Miata buddy and another good Mustang buddy. So I'm hoping to solicit help from each of them on this one!

Jim - Thanks so much for the link to the tips & tricks! I had come across that before and had been hunting for it recently. Not much to add to the sig yet as I shop for a SBF, but I'll keep it up to date.

BTW - I did start a build thread too. It's here:
