thankz for your warm welcome

i would like to go with a ls3 swap turbo and smoke all boys out this way
now i will not be doing all work by my self as i get board super quick
and frustrated when i have no clue lol what the hell im doing . no not that bad i know my way around cars and do know how to repair them but dont know every thing and here in chicago its pretty easy for me to find parts and know a few friends that actually shops and can easily pull favors as they all would love to take a ride
now the engine transmission t56 now 7.5 or 8 ?turbo? suspension? and would love to save on swap kit im working with 12k will i be able to finish it with this kinda money or not ?

Well starting with a blank slate isn't all bad and you have come to the right place. So how rusty is this Miata exactly? If I had it to do over again I sure would not have started with rust on mine it there wasn't that much of it. Considering you are going to put 4 times the power though the chassis that it was designed for you really want to start with a clean solid chassis.

You know with 12k you can buy a pretty decent build already done and adjust from there.

From all the research I have done, a few tips for you.....

READ READ READ

Once you are sure you still want to do this, decide what your goals for the car will be. Is it going to be a weekend racer, or a daily driver, or a combination. That will help you answer many questions from a budget standpoint.

If you havent already, read some more, especially Jims blog(Charchi4). It is picture heavy and gives an excellent idea of what it takes to really get one of these cars on the road.

Now, with all that being said, my thoughts on what you have said here. Start out a little slower than what you are thinking. A turbo LS3 does sound badass, but I can assure you a well massaged naturally aspirated LS1 will get your blood pumping just fine, plus it will definitely be more feasible for your budget. You've heard the phrase "Power, Reliability, Cheap, but you can only have two"

Welcome to the forums. I've been lurking and learning for a few months now and I feel very confident about my build.
