New to the site!
 

Hi all!

Just picked up a new-to-me 2002 NB Mica Yellow LS, and have a 2001 NB Mica Green SE in storage that I have owned for nearly 14 years. I have bought a used OEM hard top for each, and have been accumulating parts for both (including things like upgraded brake kits, chassis braces, etc.). My thought is to upgrade the 2001 SE with the stock 4 cylinder motor, and for the 2002 LS, go with an LS3 swap. Any of my new parts that are inconsistent with a swap project will go on the other car, and vice-versa.

As I am getting the newer car ready (cleaning up some rust from having spent its previous life in Michigan), I have been slowly researching the various vendors, including Monster Miata, V8Roadsters, etc, and have also bought the Monster Miata engine swap manual as well as the GM manual on the LS series engines. If I remember, the weight difference is negligible between the iron block NB VVT motor/transmission and the LSX/Tremec transmission, but am still going to be careful about things like suspension, chassis bracing, and wheel&tires.

Welcome!! There's a ton of info here, and nice folks that like to share. What has helped me the most is the build threads, of which there are several. They go through the complete process, and have all the questions right there... Its alot of reading, but great info.

FYI< I'm doing an LS1/NA car, and using V8Roadsters conversion parts and I'm VERY happy with the quality and fit.

When the doors opened and I saw HIM, I didn't know what to look at. As we drove to the first floor, I mentally cursed this app. The man, too, was embarrassed and hurt his forehead on the door as he exited the elevator.
