Hello all,

My name is Jordan and I am a sophmore at Penn State studying mechanical engineering. I have been into cars all my life especially the classics. I am a Ford guy at heart as I've been around them all my life. My father has always loved mustangs so he had the idea to buy one for me and each of my three siblings. In total we currently have 4 classics, one of which is a 69 BOSS 429, and I have a 98 SVT Vert.

Although I am a ford guy the LSx swap seems like a better option in my opinion and even got a good deal on a drivetrain. My car is a 2000, which I purchased for $500 without an engine and sadly it is also missing its fenders(was being parted out). the best thing...NO RUST!!! The donor car that I got was crashed, and paid $1100 for it (I knew the PO and just got lucky). The car has a 4L60e but I will be picking up a t56 for it.

I am trying to build this car with budget in mind(still in college, remember), but still dont want to cut corners. I will be making some things myself in order to save cost, but many of the core elements including engine subframe and diff kit will be purchased to ensure reliability.

I am excited to begin this build and may create a build thread in the future.

Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome and good luck! I went the Ford route as I had a lot of stuff laying around from my old fox. Had I not had a lot of stuff already, I would have gone LS.

Hi Jordan I also live in south central PA (York) and I'm putting an LS2 in a 2000 NB using a T56. If you have any questions drop me a line I have a lot of experience with the LS platform being a CHEVY guy all my life.

Good Luck
Jerry

Welcome from another NB LS'er. I am hoping to drive mine in the next month or so, also I am a mechanical engineer as well, seems to be a common hobby for us as there are a few others on here.
