Long time reader finally joining
 

Hello all. After years of drooling, I am getting my dream car, a 1996 v8 Miata. I don't have it yet, but I'll be picking it up this weekend! The engine is a 302 with an Edlebrock carb and intake, gt40 heads (cast iron), e303 cam. Tranny is a T5 hooked up to a solid 8.8, which I hope to change. Pictures of it are in my profile.

It needs some rust repair and an IRS rear and paint, but it starts and runs great with a mean sound that my wife just loves. What do you all think?

On another note, how do I change my name? The darn iPad added an extra "g" >_<

Hi Rob,
I just looked into changing your username and I don't think I can. Since you're not that far into things here if it's really important to you you could just make a new account and reload your three gallery pictures to that new account.

The car looks good. You're lucky your wife likes the sound, I had to muffle mine quite a bit to make it work in my household (my car that is, not my wife :)).

Hey welcome to V8 Miataville! Glad you took the plunge! Interesting on the rear end. I wonder what he used that would fit in there without narrowing. You'd think it would have been easier to just put the right on in to begin with. Well you will have lots of fun fixing it up to your liking! Congrats on the car!
