It's Time

I guess it's time to introduce myself to the group as I am finally moving forward after being the fly on the wall for at least 2 or 3 years here on the forum.
My name is Mike and I live in Southern California. I have been reading up on everything I could get my eyes on here on the forum and on the other sites as well as to what really works in these cars.
Being here in Cali I am not far from Martin at Monster Miata and have had the opportunity to spend some time at his shop on several occasions and also just hang out with him. Super COOL guy and he has a tremendous amount of knowledge around these little cars.
So I made my build list on what I wanted to build about 3 years ago along with a parts list for my diff, trans, engine, suspension, brakes, interior, paint etc. so I have this car planned to the enth degree and have been accumulated a pile of parts over the past 2 1/2 years as things went on sale. I plan on flogging the car pretty hard at the auto cross track and on track days, would also love to compete in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge when they are here at Fontana Raceway so Im building for speed but want reliability too.
Being a FORD guy I am building a 347 stroker with Eagle rotating assy, Comp cam, worked Pro Maxx heads, Edelbrock, FiTech, Etc. Trans is a T5Z and almost together, it has Astro Performance gears, everything was sent out for cryo treatment, spec clutch and light weight flywheel, diff is an 8.8 with Trac Lok Diff, 3.27 gears, Martins axels, cryo treated cv knuckles. Diff is together and sitting on bench waiting.
Hopefully I am building a car that will hold up to some extreme abuse.
I picked up a 1991 NA MX5 about 6 months ago and its been sitting in the driveway waiting for me. As soon as the trans is assembled, just waiting on a pocket bearing, I will pull it in the garage and tear it down to a bear body as I have a lot planned for it.
I will be posting some pics on here soon and will definately be seeking advise from you all as time goes on.

Mike
