Irish newb

Hey all been looking for help and tips on a v8 build here in Ireland. Thinking of using a supercharged jaguar v8 as it's easier to get than the ls1 or ford 5.0 any help ideas or anything is greatly appreciated

Just curious as to the differences on doing the Miata swap over on that side of the pond.
What sort of problem is there if you buy stuff from the USA and have it shipped over there?

Doing a swap that does not have a bunch of previous examples would have kept me from doing my swap in the first place. You are thinking out of the box and it could be a really great thing or it could be the biggest headache imaginable. I seem to remember that at some time in the past Jaguar used GM transmissions behind their motors. If that is the case for your engine choice, the transmission fitment could be a non-issue because mounts for the T5 & T56 are both known entities with good off the shelf choices for mounts and driveshafts.

Please post whatever you end up doing so that others can reference your choices in the future to make things easier on them.

Only issue is cost and availability of engines here iv only 3 viable options lexus v8 rover v8 or the jag the xjr jag engine is most powerful by far. I have no time limit on the build its a project to test my skills or lack of. The v8 conversion is not common over here I honestly don't think is one in the whole country a few in the UK. But where there's a will there's a way

I assume you've looked at the rocketeer conversion?
Rocketeer V6 MX-5 3.0 V6 MX5 engine conversion for Mazda MX-5 / Miata

No, it's not a V8, but from all I've seen/read is a good conversion. And may be easier/cheaper for you given the proximity.
