I'm the guy with the CARB-legal car
I took delivery of the first FM-built CARB-legal LS3 Miata at the Miatas at MRLS event last weekend.
It's an E-Rod, and after a bunch of work, FM found a way to fit all the required bits into the car. I'll keep you posted on the smog process, but I don't anticipate any issues. |
Very cool! Post some pictures please
|
Sweet and welcome to the forum! +1 to photos I'd love to know more about the car and your story.

Welcome! Congrats to Flyin Miata for doing this, I'm imagining it wasn't an easy task, I believe you need some sort of stock or near-stock exhaust system on the vehicle. |

It opens up this swap to true DD status in a few states where it is a difficult hurdle to pass. I'm all for it. There are other less kosher ways around CARB in California, but this removes all worry.

Did you pass a referee and get a CARB sticker?
|
Did it pass smog?
|
I replied in another thread, but yes, it did go through the ref successfully last fall.
Happy to answer any questions. |
Did FM or V8R load the Miata's VIN onto the E-Rod ECU?

Not that it matters in CA, but I guess it might in other states. |
