How many V8's on the road

I am wondering how many V8 Miatas are there registered for driving on the highway use. I know some are just built for racing and not licensed for street use. does any one have an answer?

8 under my personal ownership, know of at least 40 more I've encountered over the years.

Monster Miata says they have converted 100+. Still wondering total number on the road.
