Greeting from the North GA Mountains!
:wavey: I have been a gear head and novice mechanic for years but haven't really tackled anything as big as a drive train swap. I have been looking at a V8 Miata for several years but couldn't justify the cost. I had a 2011 WRX sti limited I purchased brand new and loved but after the 4th deer tried to commit suicide using my car the insurance company decided to total it out. So now fate brings me to the decision to dive in for a V8 Miata. I am excited and nervous but after trolling the forums and seeing all of the other builds I feel like this is going to be one of the best projects I have ever done. I will try to document the build so I can share with the community as others have done. Thanks for all of the inspiration!

I was a Subie guy for a year or two. I had my fun, rebuilt a couple of engines due to crappy piston ring lands, and then moved on.
Welcome to the forum! Do you have a victim in mind for your swap? |
Welcome to the fun! You are in a very good part of the world for V8 Miatas as there are several very fine builds close to you. Nothing like going for a spin for motivation!
Looking forward to how yours comes together and would like to know more. Do you have a car yet? Are you a blue oval man or bowtie? |
Uh oh, A'ville guy here. We gonna chase each other through blood mountain?

Welcome Rajesh- you're gonna love the decision you made to go forward with a V8Roadster build! We promise you'll be happy building this new toy or your money back! What other forum offers such a guarantee? Exactly...
Seriously, do post up a build thread and we'll see you at The Mitty in April. If you're not familiar with the Mitty, then you're in store for a treat right there in your backyard! |
Welcome! There are indeed a few of us here in the Atlanta / North Georgia area. Good to hear there will be another one!

I have a NA 1990 with wide body kit. Has been sitting for a while but I will I think with the proper TLC it will become the sleeper I want. I will post some pics soon.
|
Hummm. Not to often you see wide body and sleeper in the same sentence. Looking forward to seeing it!
