G,day!! from brissie

Hello everyone, i'm Paul, and i love having toys that are personalised an different from the norm, I've always loved the MX-5 (aussie name for the Miata) but the small engine and reputation that it's a girls car have meant that i've always steered clear......

Until now, a friend e-mailed me a pic of the engine bay of one with an LS and i fell instantly in love, with plenty of research been done already as well as lurking here and reading a lot, which has been helpful, i'm ready to jump in feet first. To the point that i've posted for sale ads to be rid of unused toys that will free up the cash to do this.

Because of the laws here in Oz, particularly my home state of Queensland the conversion can be done legally but there's hoops to be jumped through, pre approval from the govt. body, an engineer who will inspect it at regular intervals of the build and ultimately sign off on it with the coveted blue mod plate with all the relevant codes. The plate means that the cops can't hassle me for the car being what it is, which if i'm being honest, will give me as big a kick as flogging a corvette or mustang on a back road or the track.

So because of my circumstances i am limited to the NC model which is fine with me, however in looking around there are many more NA/NB cars done and the guys at "FlyinMiata" have excellent instructions that document what's in store for the builder, i don't see any of that for the NC?

I have questions, not many, because i'm convinced it's doable, and frankly, from what i've seen it looks easier and more "bolt in" than the earlier cars but i need a better understanding of the process as per the NA/NB instructions so i can use that to formulate a build program for myself as well as the approving engineer.

where is the best place to post them? and if anyone who has done an NC would like to chime in with advice, suggestions and hints specific to their model i'm all ears, of course, i'm looking for guidance and input from everyone and hopefully i can repay the favour with my build documented like some others along the way.
Cheers
Paul.
